FROM FIRST SEED TO FINAL
How BracketForge works
The organizer’s job should be simple. Here’s how to keep your event moving.
1. Set your field
Choose a format, name your event and paste one participant per line. List order is seed order. Move names up or down to seed manually, or shuffle for random seeding. Top seeds receive automatic byes.
2. Record each match
Select a winner and optionally enter both scores. Scores must agree with the outcome. Round robin can allow a tie. Advancing participants populate the next match automatically.
3. Make safe corrections
Editing an elimination result clears its dependent results after confirmation. Independent matches are retained. A score-only change also clears dependent results conservatively. Round-robin edits update standings without clearing other fixtures.
4. Choose final rules
In double elimination, winners-bracket losses feed the losers bracket. A second loss eliminates an entrant. With reset enabled, a losers-bracket victory in the grand final triggers a deciding reset; with reset disabled, one grand final decides the title.
5. Read round-robin standings
Only completed matches count. Points are configurable. Tiebreakers apply in the chosen order. Head-to-head is a mini-league of all entrants tied on total points, applied only when all their scheduled meetings are complete. Scoreless results contribute zero to score totals. Equal final ranks share first place.
6. Keep a backup
Autosave uses this browser’s storage. JSON lets you move events between devices. Snapshot links are compressed, read-only copies, not live collaboration. PNG/PDF include paginated reports and visual elimination brackets; browser print provides a readable report.
